The largest Business Network in the Estrie region

On September 28, 1889, Andrew Paton, the founder of the Paton (erreur en français dans le nom ‘’Patron’’) Manufacturing Plant and a group of business people from the Sherbrooke area made a request for an official certification as a ‘’Chamber of Commerce’’ to its Excellency, the Governor General of Canada. It was on January 20, 1890 that Mr. Paton received the official confirmation of the incorporation of the first Sherbrooke Chamber of Commerce, named ‘’The Sherbrooke Board of Trade’’ for which he became the first President-Elect.

Over the last 130 years, local business people have been involved as members of the Board of Directors of the Sherbrooke Chamber of Commerce and Industry on a voluntary basis in order to support the Chamber’s mission: Promote economic expansion of the private sector businesses and use its local leadership in order to oversee that favorable conditions are maintained and put forth in order to well-being and economic growth of its community.

The SCCI benefits from over 1 400 members which also includes members of the Youth Chamber of Commerce – better known as JCCS.
